Remodeling a condo has its own challenges, limited work hours without disrupting neighbors, parking, stairs… so many stairs! And of course, the HOA. This condo offered all these challenges and more. Homeowners/clients that live in an HOA should always make sure that they fully understand the limitations that the HOA could put on them prior to starting a project.
This homeowner wanted to add a washer/dryer to their unit, as other units had done the same. The HOA would not allow it. We were also required to provide the HOA with a complete design plan along with materials being used so they could sign off on it. There were many delays when waiting for HOA approval throughout the process. Ultimately, we were able to work through each issue and deliver the client their desired condo, refreshed and renewed with a contemporary feel.
In keeping with the overall aesthetic with the home, we were able to add the client’s wish for contemporary finishes with new cabinetry, tile and lighting along with a hexagon wall art that aligned with the existing fireplace. Adding LVP flooring with a sound deadening pad gave the homeowner and the HOA what they wanted. Complimentary wall color along with new lighting illuminated the space where it was once dark and dreary.
