Transformed a finished, but dated basement into functional space for a growing family.  Removed all the wood paneling, ducting, and removed a chimney and fireplace and hearth, and provided plumbing for a future wet bar for the family.  Re-configured the space to give them a large closed off laundry room right off the garage entry for a drop off zone when you enter the home; with ample storage and some nice natural light with new windows.  We gave them a bedroom and 3 ⁄ 4 bathroom complete with heated tile floor, perfect for a PNW basement.   Updated the HVAC in the whole home, which removed the dated furnace, which had its own large room.  We redid the stairs; bringing them up to code.  Once complete, the family made the basement a gym for their children, complete with a climbing wall.
