A Legacy of Craftsmanship
Blue Water Design Build was founded by Kirk Gronvold, a third-generation builder whose dedication to quality construction began at an early age. After graduating from Seattle University in 1985, Kirk spent over two decades honing his expertise within his family’s construction business. In 2007, driven by a vision to offer more personalized and integrated services, he established Blue Water Design Build LLC in Seattle.
Today, we proudly serve homeowners, builders, and developers with full-spectrum design-build services—from new construction and comprehensive remodels to ongoing home repairs and maintenance through our dedicated home services division.

Kirk’s wife and business partner, Donna Gronvold, has been an integral part of the firm since its inception. As co-owner and lead designer, Donna has a gift for translating clients’ ideas into cohesive and inspiring living spaces. Whether it’s a full-home renovation or a focused kitchen or bath remodel, she guides homeowners through every decision—sourcing materials, suggesting design solutions, and ensuring each project reflects their personal style.
